I watch and have watched countless old and new war movies. They are like almost like their own category of movie types like westerns - musicals - comedy - drama - horror - thrillers - sci-fi or love stories.
But war movies are a special mix of almost all the types I listed.
Who else likes a good war flick ? Post your fav

I don't think there's a war movie I wouldn't watch, including foreign films. New, old, color or black and white. Even subtitles if my wife isn't watching. Really like civil war, WW2 and Vietnam movies. Both for entertainment and history.

My wife doesn’t like war movies.! I made her watch “The Pacific” her dad was involved in in some of those battles. Now she knows why he was the way he was.

Sometimes you have to suspend beleif. Peacemakers in cap and ball era , American tanks with nazi markings, etc.. Knowing things can ruin otherwise good movies for you.
I'm just a soul whose intentions are good. O Lord please don't let me be misunderstood.

My father landed on Utah beach in France. 4th infantry division 6x6 Truck Driver. The WW2 Movies back Then was in the theater was the battle of the bulge and the longest day. He could reflect a whole lot of what he did during that time, to me during that time, My wife's grand father was a tanker. a kind of short man, was a gunner on a Sherman tank. .Anyway me and my dad used to watch the old movies on TV and I still remember His comments while watching these old movies. Some one that was there and can relate the real deal. Both men could tell ya a real story. However...Dirty Dozen and Kelly's Hero's..good one's fiction I believe but great movies for that time.

While fartin' around in the workshop I like to have something on the TV I can mostly listen to and take a look at occasionally. You Tube offers a variety of movies and old TV shows. Top of my list is Combat with Vic Morrow. The entire series is there. Another is 12 O'clock High. Rat Patrol is there but must've been more exciting to watch when I was a kid. Seems a wee bit hokey now.
