90 degrees here today. Great day for yard work and welding... NOT. A tip that Gary from hammers trapline products told me was to weld both sides of the mighty S hook. 4 welds per S. Closes everything up nicely. Like he said the chain or the casting on the bullet attachment will break before the S hook gives.

My buddy’s husband welded ten for me just the other day. I am so happy to be rid of cable stakes for a bit. They aggravate me

Dang Savell and I thought I was in high cotton with my milwaukee brushless 18 with an auger. It really does work slick running it down beside the cable or chain and they usually just fall out. Unless your dealing with really hard clay.

I went to cold shuts welded on mine. I've never managed to break the chain or the ears on the anchor. But I run #5 chain. I have however managed to snap the S hook in half, rather than breaking at the weld before. That is when you know you got a good weld.

I made a few dozen anchors with number five chain for a fellow trapper and found it simple to just cut open the chain link at its weld spread it a tad slide it through anchor tab pinch shut and weld it back shut worked out nice. Those anchors have been pulled and re used many seasons now.

Clamp a 5/8 lock washer by bottom in vise Use a stout screwdriver and place through washer and twist it open. Apply bullet stake and chain. Twist screwdriver opposite direction to close up gap in lock washer and weld it shut. Cheap and easy

Works perfectly, and I think design wise stronger than mighty S hooks

I think I may give this a try next time but I run #5 machine chain on mine because I pull with my side by side winch. First year using #5 so we are gonna see where the weak spots are. lol

The winch cable on your side by side will be the weak spot. I tried pulling with the winch on my fourwheeler years ago. But I broke the cable repeatedly.
