Did not go out for track.

Coach would always test out the freshmen for new recruits. Had everyone run to see if anyone was any good.
I did real good in the 440 , very fast and could run all day like Forrest Gump.

Coach hounded me bad to join the team. I had zero interest in training day in , day out. I had potential and he saw it. Just no interest on my part.

That coach pestered me for months to join. Kept saying no. Again and again.
Ran a few road races on my own after high school.

Hunting, fishing and trapping but none were school sports

Wrestling and State champion junior and senior year. Third my Sophomore year. With a record of 87 - 2. My junior and senior year undefeated.

Ran track in high school 200 and 400. Lots of medals but didn't place in state.

Went to college on a Baseball scholarship and played for 2 yrs. I new I didn't have the natural talent it took to be a major league ball player. But know one worked as hard as I did.

Bull rider thru college till I was 28 and turned pick up man for over 30 yrs. Lots of rodeos and lots of wrecks.

Now I'm older and getting older everyday. I am building myself a Deer blind for the bow season in S.D. this year.

Wrestled and played baseball till high school.

Football and Basketball. Ran track and played baseball in the younger grades but got to be to much.

Running, out the door to go hunting, trapping, fishing, or after girls.

In Jr high I wrestled for one year, was not for me.
In high school I ran track as a distance runner. I mile, 2 mile and the 2 mile relay. I excelled at that.
In collage I was on the Timber sports team. My mail events there were fire build, firewood splitting and pack board relay.

Soccer, wrestling, and baseball. Soccer was my main sport. I played in college my freshman year before listening to my advisor, quitting and jumping all in to the student chapter of the wildlife society. I decided I wanted to focus more on my career - fish and wildlife bio major. I was a decent wrestler but after 8th grade quit and started snowboarding and playing more soccer. I regret stopping wrestling the most of all. Decent pitcher and 3rd basemen but baseball was just fun for me and nothing more.

Now I coach my 3 boys and the high school soccer team.

Football: Was starting center and defensive end my Sophomore year. Same my Junior year and earned all District honors as a D-end. Senior year moved to middle linebacker and averaged just over 18 tackles per game. Good enough for All-State

Basketball: starting as center my Junior year at only 6’1”. Was replaced by my future bother in law halfway through my Senior year. He was 6’5” and only a Sophomore but was much better than me so didn’t mind one bit.

Baseball: started all 4 years either in the outfield or first base. Got All-District honors my senior year.

Track: started running my Sophomore year the 800 and both 1600 and 3200 relays. Set school record in the 800 my Junior year at 2:05 and almost the 400 at 0:50 flat. Qualified for state and finished 8th in the finals. Blew ankle out right as track was getting ready to start playing a pick up game of basketball and couldn’t run my Senior year.

I went to four different High Schools. I played baseball which was my favorite sport, but wasn't spectacular at it.
I was much better at football, and started on offence and defence for all four schools.
I weighed 140 pounds dripping wet, but was quick as lightning, had a hard head, and a mean streak to make up for my teen model physique.
Oh, and yes, I was indeed a teen model.

Played some football, but the girls were much more interesting and smelled a lot better.

Played some ball. Outside of school joined at that time 4h shooting sports (now friends of NRA shooting sports). 9 year old up to senior in high school is the duration. It’s where I learned to shoot a bow along with a few other things even though I grew up an avid outdoorsman. It consisted of shotgun, 22 rifle and pistol, muzzleloader, archery, orienteering, wildlife id, and safety trail. State competition and if you placed well enough you could compete in nationals. Still in operation today, and in my opinion still a great extracurricular activity for kids whether they’re new to it or grew up doing it.

Swimming and track, went to State in both my senior year. 100 yard butterfly and high jump.

Played fast pitch softball into my 40’s.

worked all through HS so only ran track 2 years. Mile and 2 mile.
While at UW I participated in intermural sports and played basket ball, hockey, fast pitch softball, wrestling and was in a running club. Almost all of these were in the C level intermural offerings.Worked 24 hours a week while in college too, but most was in the early AM milking cows and weekends.

Bryce

Basketball. I wasn't bad but needed good coaching. Got real tired of being the target of box n 1 defenses. Then exploded my calf muscle triple jumping in track my junior season , an injury that lingered into my senior season of basketball.

Worked on a couple farms soph-sen year. Would sweat out the hog crap at baseball practice in the late spring/summer. Was just an average hitter for small school hs ball, but could throw in the low 90’s with a big 12-6 bender. 92 was gas 25 years ago, not too uncommon nowadays. It paid for most of college. I still hurt from it at times. When I know ive met my health insurance deductible for the year, its tempting to throw for a gun again. That movie, The Rookie, gave all the Uncle Ricos like me a little hope

Football! I lived and breathed the game. After I graduated it was years before I could watch or go to a football game.

Baseball and soccer, my school did not have football.
