Honestly xbows might be safer - for the enemy in battle. Seems it was safer to be on the receiving end of the crossbow at Agincourt. Lol

So it’s safer.

And it is archery equipment. You can disagree all you want. Doesn’t change the fact that it’s archery equipment.

Like those folks that are dudes pretending to be chicks .They can think what they want. But they are still dudes.

Safer? How? And you calling it archery equipment doesn't make it that. Like those folks that are dudes pretending to be chicks. They can think what they want. But they are still dudes. You're still a dude Delaware

Maybe the guys that have to put a lot of practice with their stick bows have to do so for a reason :P Or they're just overbowed.

Virginia does that man. When was the last time you read the regs? Lol

I do believe that some folks would be irritated if I smoked a buck the first Saturday of October with my '06 in most of Virginia.

It is safe.
As safe as the person handing the firearm.

Is it pointed in a safe direction?
Are they treating it as if it was loaded even if they are sure it’s not?
Are they aware of their target and what lays in-front and beyond the target?
Is their finger off the “trigger” until they are ready to shoot?

Oh come on guys, lets just get along. I dont like crossbows IN ARCHERY SEASON, but I cant draw an archery bow right now so I might be forced to use one if I hunt this year. On second thought, nahhh, not my style. If I cant use my longbow I would rather sit it out. But I know not everyone feels that way.

They certainly are effective and safe, but again, under archery regs I dont feel as safe sharing the woods with them, but not sure the data proves me correct on that.

So are you in favor of allowing 300 mag in early archery season in the eastern US?

But the data doesn’t prove you correct.

They are archery equipment. If legal where you are they are effective and safe. Not all states are allowing them, but it is growing and will be there soon. It’s archery equipment.

I know you weren't asking me, but I would be.

Proudly banned from the NTA.

Lugnut, go back and read my op. Addressed the tired argument about compound bows vs stick bows. Or maybe you read it but it didn't sink in . Read it slooowly and think about it.

How would you feel unsafe in the woods with them? if you cant see someone with a crossbow in the woods, theyd have to be shooting at a plane to hit you.

What makes them unsafe?

They are as safe as the person using them.

Do they randomly go off? Like the scary black semiautomatic rifles that the gun haters are scared of?

The difference is that until you draw it back, it does not matter where archery equipment is pointed or what is beyond the target.
Edit: and you cant just sit with archery equip drawn a ready to point and pull a trigger..
