Wifey and i have decided that we need to improve the security at our home and farm. At home we have the house with an attached garage. We have wifi at home. At the farm we have a cabin and 4 outbuildings. We can have wifi at the cabin, but not at any outbuilding. Wifi is expensive for just the cabin. Although we might keep it at the lowest speed so we can keep the landline telephone.

So far, we have been using good cellular trail cameras that immediately upload photos and videos. They are excellent and the service cost is $75 per month for six cameras. We would like to add something that is a bit more active - maybe a siren or whatever is possible.

We are not interested in Ring or Blink. I ordered Blink cameras and they require access to all content on all devices - no way.

What is available that works well? Thanks everyone for ideas.

I've used them for years, didn't require anything such as that for me. Sorry you had troubles with them. I like ours very well. It doesn't cost anything either after you purchase the cameras. Just put a big SD card in the home unit and all the videos go to it free, you can still view them on your phone.

We had a local service come in and install a complete system several years ago as I used to travel a good bit for work. Works well and is cellular based. Monitors water leakage at key points in the home as well. Our sump pump failed a couple years ago and I believe the system paid for itself right there.

My son is pretty technically savvy and he looked at our system and built his own at their place for about 25 percent of the cost of mine lol.
