I haven't posted this for a while, so I thought I would catch up.

Tonight, Zim whipped up this masterpiece. Venison from our woods (my deer) sauteed in butter with onions from his garden, served with baby red potatoes from his garden, and some of his wonderful garden tomatoes...

...and a generous amount of sour cream just for Lufkin. laugh

What's on your table tonight? I know it will be good!

Sour cream is a must no matter what you’re serving up. Way to go

Thanks, Savell! Only a few carefully screened individuals have been allowed into the site at this point.

Thank you, Gator Foot! It was wonderful stuffing my face with that!

Thanks, Elsmasho. I agree on the sour cream! Crowning touch.

All you need with that awesome meal is some sliced jalapenos with your sour cream.

That looks delicious, and I'm sure it was.

Thanks! Funny you should mention jalapenos, Ohio Wolverine. Zim has a pile of them here and I'm going to make some stuffed with cheese and wrapped in bacon. If those get too hot for me, I top mine with a dollop of sour cream!

Thank you, Paul! It was a real treat!

I use a spoon to remove seeds and membranes for people that don't like anything that bites back.
Made jelly by juicing stripped jalapenos , and the first taste, you were waiting for a big bite back, but it wasn't there.
People loved it.

Looks delicious Zim and Patrice. Making meals with ingredients you harvested from your own land is very satisfying.

Eh...wot?

I still can't see any photos as of yet. Still clicking back and forth with each page to read a thread. I am sure it looks great as always Patrice. We had left overs from a Walmart roasted ckn dinner from the nite before. Still good eating but not as fancy as yours and Zims dinner. Just basic stuff here.

I love jalapeno jelly. We have never made it ourselves. I think a neighbor who got some peppers from Zim brought us some. Great stuff!

One thing we have noticed is that the heat of the jalapenos really varies year to year, and even plant to plant in the same year. I do always remove seeds and membranes to make poppers, but Zim will often leave them in to add heat to salsa. All good!

Thanks, Lugnut. It sure gives us a good feeling!

Thank you, Bob. I'm sure your basic stuff is just a good. I hope you get your pictures back soon!

Thank you, 330. Sometimes a frozen pizza is just right to hit the spot too!

The heat in jalapenos like most hot peppers in determined by the amount of water the plants get.
I grew three rows with drip lines in-between the rows, the middle peppers were very mild, the inside of the outside rows were mild, but the outside of the plants were hot.
At least that's what it seemed to me.

That's interesting, O.W. It does make sense. Say, would you happen to have a good jalapeno jelly recipe? Thanks!

Nothing more rewarding then harvesting upland, big game, vegetables and fruits from your land. Big game is next for me been picking wild berries and vegetables so far with a lot of melons I hope by next week.

Thanks for sharing your success.
