Just heard that Slim Pedersen has passed away. Rest easy friend I will always appreciate what you did for me 20 plus years ago. He was truly a wealth of knowledge.

Thoughts and prayer to the family! R.I.P. Slim!

Sad day for me as well, met him many years ago in person at a Idaho trappers convention, selling my units when I first
got them going, he introduced himself, and I told him heck every knows who you are and he just did that laugh he had,
and he sat down with me and gave me the whole history of calling units from Ed Cortney on, and then told me I had a
great product, he was correct and I've never forgot that meeting !!

Always he would stop by at the NTA conventions when I was selling my units and he always had time to sit and talk, we
became good friends as most do when meeting him. Our small group of friends always included him and he always had
time for us!
Doubt anyone knows more about trapping than ole Slim did and his way of helping others learn was a treat in it's self !!

Will miss him a great deal, as many will I'm sure, sad to see so many keep on passing and the shape of trapping is in
now, people like him are very far and few in between !

Rest in peace my great friend, you have left a great legacy behind you !!

Never got to meet him, but have followed his posts and he will truly be missed by many!

Slim was a great man to talk to. He answered his phone on many occasions for me and we would chew the fat. He didn't know me from Adam but didn't care. Trapping was in his HEART and he loved trapping talk. Wish I could have sat around a fire with.

Sad to hear that. He taught me to make his knot-locks when I was trying to figure them out several years ago. Spent an hour video conferencing with him, and he taught me the lock in about 15 minutes, then we spent the next 45 minutes just talking about all kinds of stuff. I definitely enjoyed it, and will always have the skill he taught me, which he invented.

Really sad day for sure. Slim was one of the best and a great guy to boot!

He will surely be missed. RIP friend.

The good Lord truly blessed us when he made him. He always had time for all my questions. His answers at times were always a teaching designed to make one think.

You will be missed by many old friend.

I sure hate to hear this. The last convention I attended that Slim was at, I spent a good deal of time at his booth talking with him, and I am very glad that I got that opportunity. I'd known Slim for years before that, but we never chatted as much as we did that weekend, and I am grateful to have had the opportunity. As was mentioned above, trapping was certainly in his heart, it is who he was. You will surely be missed Slim. Rest in peace.

Will see Slim again at the great rendezvous in the sky.

Years ago l was able to contact him and ask him questions which when he answered my questions, his answers left me with more questions.
Simply an amazing man who was so humble and kind. After several sessions where l would call and probably pester the daylights out of the poor man
he sent me several books from his library. Most were from other authors but he signed each one wishing me success in my trapping.
He holds my respect and a special place in my heart. God bless him for all he gave to us and shared.

I'm sure glad I had the opportunity to meet and visit with him. What a great man; may he rest in peace.

He is a true legend. I had the unique experience of having him accompany me and Jtrapper on a trip from Jtrappers house to the NTASE and back in Arkansas years ago. Slim was at Jtrapper's house where I picked up both of them. That was a ride I'll never forget. Rest in peace my friend.

He went to school with a rancher i trap for.
I told him that I found his flag wires and stakes.
And just laughed and said he remembered catching fox and Bobcats there.

R.I.P Slim,visited with him at many conventions and ate dinner with him at Caven's about 20 years ago when they were doing a traveling trapping clinic's.Slim will be missed...

Read several of his books. Never met him but I always paid attention when he talked about coyotes and cats. He seemed like he was the thinking and studying type of guy and I liked that.
Blessings to the man and all he did for trapping. He'll be missed.

What Slim did for me can never be quantified or measured. He was a big factor in the growth of our endeavors. Sad that he is gone!

Like so many others we all enjoyed getting the opportunity to sit and listen first to what Slim had to say and visit no matter if it was at the NTA Western in Forsyth or down in Powell Wyo . getting to sit in on the question and answer sessions were a joy his spirit was contagious even if his body wasn't able to do the job it once could so effortlessly .

Got to meet him at minktoberfest and spend some time talking to him, what a time I had. A gentleman and he was able to talk about anything in life and not from a higher level than the person he was talking to. Rest in pease Sir. Charlie

Sorry to hear that

I had the pleasure to host Mr Pedersen on my trap line about 10 years ago for some instruction. He stayed at my house with my wife and I, and it was a treasured time. He told me many amazing, interesting, and funny stories, it seemed as though he was living and had lived a life many of us dream about. He was a true gentleman trapper, he absolutely insisted on taking my wife and I out to dinner on his last night. I was able to catch up with him a few times over the years, but definitely not enough. Rest in Peace Slim.

I hate to hear of some of these older trappers that many of us have admired and learned from passing on.

First time i met Slim he was correcting a guy who had said his last name as Peterson.. Slim said the name is Pedersen not Peterson then walked off. The guy didnt know what to do . lol
