Leather bound with a skinned beaver adorning the front. How things were different back then. A skinned beaver on a yearbook would be so politically incorrect in today's Oregon. You know, keystone species and all.

Dad had worked for a year or two and then entered Oregon State College to study Agriculture. He was a pledge at Alpha Gamma Rho, the local Ag fraternity. Depression hit hard and dad hit the road for a few years without ever completing that Ag degree. The yearbook just came into my possession last week from another family member.


My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

Well Oregon State hasn’t changed their mascot yet, but it may not be long. Some will probably think it is discrimination of the cheerleaders. Maybe that is why they added boys to the squad.
