We have here , the tallest Uncle Sam statue in the world. 38 feet tall , made of fiberglass. ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2025/08/full-3135-267662-1000000097.jpg) Some history , this statue was at the entrance to our state fairgrounds until the property was sold in 1982 to a company to build a mall on the property. It was then sold to a theme park in Lake George , NY. It was there for about 40 years. When that park closed we got a chance to buy it back. With private investors giving the money for it and it's restoration , we got it back. Picture taken during it's dedication ceremony. What kind of landmarks do you have in your area ?

Down in Monroe, Ohio they have Hug Me Jesus. ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2025/08/full-11798-267669-screen_shot_2012_09_25_at_10_45_28_am.png) He replaced Big Butter Jesus, who was also called Touch Down Jesus. ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2025/08/full-11798-267670-r_6.jpeg) when some other God, maybe Zeus or Odin, hit Big Butter Jesus with a lightning bolt. ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2025/08/full-11798-267671-03_47.jpg) He then became Defeated Terminator II Jesus. Nearby , a few miles away , over the state line was the world's biggest chair. ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2025/08/full-3135-267686-1000000098.jpg) It was 30 feet tall. Located in front of a furniture company that made wood furniture. It is gone now. Vandals lit it on fire one night and it was taken down for safety reasons.

We got this I remember smelling those stockyards back in 1985. The stink lasted for many miles. We had 27 dead birds stuck in the grill of the Eldorado we rented, while driving through Kansas. Some cop materialised out of nowhere and gave my dad a speeding ticket. My impression of Kansas was flat, dry and boring. Keith

Keith, this was my old battalion, 82nd Engineer. ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2025/08/full-2735-267710-images_30.jpeg) Battalion greeting was Blue Babe, Sir. We spent so much time in the woods building crap that it actually was Blue Balls, Sir.

Babe pulled the Mighty Mississippi River straight. Straightening the Mississippi is a feat the engineers would be proud of. Keith

My impression of Kansas was flat, dry and boring. good A lot of Ohio was bulldozed by the glaciers like that too. I like rougher land. I live right on the break, where the glaciers stopped. Did glaciers flatten Kansas or was it lake or seabed? Keith
