Just tried a search but nothing as yet.

[/font]OK...........I'm gonna need to do something else. I use PayPal to "pay" things online all the time. however, I have NOT re-hooked my bank account to it, to be able to receive money.
Nor do I plan to............I started to do it, got to the point where they said "need to enter your login user name and password to your checking account !!!! NO way am I doing that. Been scammed 3 yrs ago, taught me a valuable lesson and I lost $1500 in the process. Thought I was pretty intelligent until that!
Need suggestions if I should get another one of those type things? I am not willing to give any of them my bank acct login in user name and password.

Options :

1. Venmo? is that safe and no giving them that personal info?

2. Does anyone else *that I know personally* have a paypal they can send the money to ? I say that, because I am unwilling also to take a chance on someone I don't know receiving the money for Slim's memorial......nothing personal to anyone here. I loved the guy, and that's just the way I am...........yeah, I know..........annoying. lol He was one of my best friends, we talked a lot, he was out here 3 -4 times since I married Rodney and moved to upstate NY in 2006 May. As most of you know, Rodney died of cancer March 9 of this year. He was on hospice here at home for 5 weeks, horrible .......Slim was one of my rocks during the last couple years. He didn't tell me when he was diagnosed in May 2025 with acute leukemia, and Rodney's illness was why.

Please send me a private message if you have a paypal and would collect the $ and keep in touch with me on it.

I am heading out for the evening with some friends, so won't be checking this until late.

THANKS to all of you that care about Slim and respect all he has done for trapping.

Laurie

No idea how to solve this but will keep bringing to the top for all to see.

I have used Venmo to do almost everything I do including the majority of my invoicing (I am a private contractor) for 5 years now. It is as safe as anything online or an ap can be.

I have zero complaints nor have I heard anyone make any.

PAY PAL has always been good for me, they cover lost money on scams too.
Never heard of them wanting your password or login to your bank accounts.
They just wanted the account number, so be careful.

I clicked on a PAY PAL.COM link once and it asked for my user name and password.
Backed out and tried the merchant login, and it had my user name on it and just had to put in my password.
I got my bank tied to PAY PAL a long time ago.
No problem except they go to my checking account for purchases and deposits , just have to change it is all.
I have -$95.00 on my Pay pal credit card, a pay back from a scam.
I had already paid the card, before they credited my card.

I hate to pay any interest on any credit card.

I’m a little confused by the request…does it have to be a hundred dollars?

… no … she’s just saying we need to send more than a hundred collectively…. I think we can do much better than that

I can see Slim laughing now watching ol crazy maw cat trying once again to do something nice and it blowing up in her face, nearly as bad as her trying to operate a microwave oven, lol.

Notice i didn't agree to send anything, not my first rodeo with ANYTHING that crazy woman is involved in, lol.

Mscat I have sent you money a bit ago without problem. I will try now.

Never mind wife actually read the entire thread. I understand why you can't receive now.

Why don't we all just send checks to you. We all know you and you likely don't personally know many of us.

Can the trapperman fund receive paypal? We can just label it for slim?

Hi, everyone. Thanks for all the comments and replies..... Sounds like I was getting scammed by asking for my password and user name. Glad I backed out of that. I've never tried venmo and I just hate to hook my account to something else.. I can send out payment using PayPal.I just can't bring money in without giving them that information which i'm not gonna do.

Whoever said maybe sending the money to the paypal for the discretionary fund.... whoever is in charge of that, can you message me or call me so we can discuss it. I know that would be extra work for you.But you wouldn't have to do much until it all got there. We could put a deadline date on Sunday. The money paypal or to me on a check at the address I put above.. What about the deadline to getting the money here?Either way is September thirtieth.

I have.
Not seen an obituary either..... at his request. .....The family was to do cremation. And spread his ashes up on the mountains. And I think he requested no service. As k9 said to me..."classic slim".

Let's just send checks to Laurie. That would be the simple solution.

Sorry I'll sent to where it'll do the most good!
If her pay pal has been compromised , not going there.
The decenary fund , under Slim , at least it's in safe hands.

When was the last time you sent a check by mail?

I get hundreds of checks every year thru the mail as well as money orders for the last 20 years for my products
and never have I had a lost check that I am aware of !

You might have sketchy mail delivery where you live, not every one does !!

That's not what I'm pointing out.
I've only mailed a check maybe 3 times in the last 10 years.
Guess I've been compromised .
