I'm not going anywhere, so I'm good.
There will be police presence in a lot of places this weekend looking for DUI's. Stay home people , have a burger off the grill with a beer or three....lol

Maybe a spatchcock chicken on the grill is in the plans

Right now, I have mulberry and pear wood burning on the grill, to cook pork loin on, when the wood turns to coals. Sadly there is no beer to go with it.

A broke one, badly in need of more treasure, some more of which I need to sell. 5 expensive hospital stays between us have looted me saved treasure. I had to sell me parrot, or they would of took me other leg.

Grilled to perfection.

Thanks. Grilling on real wood is the best way to cook. I like fruit and nut woods and sometimes nut shells for grilling. Mulberry is my overall favorite wood for grilling on, though I blend woods a lot. Beside the mulberry and pear I mentioned, this fire had a little plum wood in it too. I use sticks that are between around 3/4" and 2" thick. They burn down into usable coals very quickly.

Propane and processed charcoal just don't give as good a flavor. They seem soulless too, like a metal or fiberglass handle on an axe or hatchet.

I've got a 17 inch wiper, I caught last weekend, in the freezer. That, with some of whatever fish I catch next, will likely be what I next grill.

Nice. Opening day of dove, resident Canada goose and archery deer on Monday. Can’t wait.

No time for fun and wasting time. Got a big job protecting a large pheasant propagation operation. Lost 69 birds on Monday nite and a dozen or more each nite before looking for some help. Looks like Mink and coon maybe a fisher thrown in. You folks have fun doing what you do.

The first year I raised ringneck pheasants I lost 76 in one day out of around 3750 pheasants. I thought something got in, but couldn't find any holes. I soon figured out they were pulling the blood feathers that were growing in for their tails and not stopping, once they tasted blood, until they gutted each other. Polypeepers, to keep them from seeing directly in from of them, stopped the cannabilism.

I hope you catch the mink, coon and fisher. Once the distressed birds start screaming and the smell of blood is in the air, all the nearby predators show up.

I hope you all enjoy the weekend. I had thw last 5 days off and unfortunately will be spending the next 4 or 5 at work. Hopefully only 4 Unless I get forced. ( Bad part of working a lot is i seldom get my turn geting forced ot so stay at the top of the turns list). Then I get invited when I want to not be at work.
