My hearing is about shot. Even my state of the art hearing aids are not providing much improvement.

Anybody have the cochlear implants? How do you like them? Can you hunt with them?

My mom has one. It is a lot of hard work to train your brain to hear with them. She wouldn't do the work and so they are worthless.

I just know that in children, cochlear implants can often make a deaf child have a close to perfectly normal life. Our friend Todd's daughter, Marley, has implants in both ears. They were first installed when she was a baby and she speaks normally. The implants fail often and she has had many surgeries to adjust, fix and replace them. She has had issues with infections around the implants too. There is no doubt they have made her life better though.

My wife has one she was deaf from birth in her left ear and only about 60 percent in her right ear her hearing got down to 10 percent total hearing at that point she decided to check in on one.It was in 2020 not a good time to really have it done but she went on and had it done. I do know her and I would say go on and have it done it has made such a difference in both our lives. It has been 5 years now and she stills ask me what is that sound I say honey I don't ,know but I have heard that sound for 79 years. She has been playing the piano since child hood and never heard the top notes till after she got it. Her hearing is up to 80 percent so we both say go for it and have a blessed Sunday.
