anyone get a tag this year, I got second season tag, for u p michigan

Not me. I think I have 7 points now. I'm hoping to collect points until my Grandsons are old enough to hunt bear, then I will draw a tag and transfer it to one of them.

My friends around here that drew are having tons of bear photos.

A couple friends drew them around me.....lots of nice photos on their bait. I have over 20 points now...need to make my mind up here pretty soon.

smudge-pot, anyone use one of these, to get bears to come in, get a fire going and almost put it out with something sweet, I'm using apple jelly,

Bob Maguire wrote a bear book. He used a honey burn. Honey in a can and heated til it smoked. Kept heating til it burned black smoke. Worked well.

We can shoot 2 here, one in October and one in December, tags are $2.00. Farmers can get a permit to shoot them like rats. This one was in my backyard about an hour ago. The parallel lines are the wife's clothesline.
