That's normal when eating wild duck!!
I had one of the weirdest dining experiences of my life , in of all places , Paris. ( Yup , the french can be weird...lol )
I was on a tour through Europe and like most tour packages , some meals were included. So our tour guide took us to this restaurant that they had an agreement with to handle our tour group on that day/time slot. Typical of menu choices , beef , poultry , fish for our preset dinner entree options. The choice for poultry was duck. So I figured , let me try the duck.
Shortly thereafter the meal was served to our group. I was eating my duck and enjoying it. Nice caramelized tips on the edges and cooked with a Parisian flair. Very tasty , and I was enjoying it.
Then I bit into something hard. I thought it was a small bone and put it aside on my plate. Two bites later , another hard object. Then a bunch more in quickly right after that. Looking at the stuff I had put aside on my plate , I found out that these hard pieces were not bone but metal brads about 3/4" long. They were embedded in the duck's flesh , so had not been swallowed.
I couldn't figure it out except for maybe someone used a hand loaded shotgun shell loaded with brads.
Another member of our tour group found 2 brads in their duck , but I found about 5-6 in mine and then I stopped eating.
Restaurant apologized a bunch and offered to make me a completely different meal for free , but I had lost my appetite at that point.
