Anyone own a savage accutrigger rifle? Do you like it? Any issues. Looking at a new .22 rifle kinda turned off by the triggers… never shot one though. Any thoughts?

Been using an accutrigger for years. Love it.

I like them. Simple and good.

I have one on my savage ml 2 muzzle loader and like it. It allows a nice trigger from the factory. All of my guns typically get trigger work or replaced not that one. Im also used to shooting a glock I bought at 18 or 19 years old so 27 years or so with that gun. Pretty well 2nd nature at this point. Try it out you may find you like it.

So have i and i agree, currently i have 4 savage rifles that a accurtriggers and several more that dont nothing wrong with any of them but if i had a choice it would be an easy choice the accutrigger gets the go

Ya its ugly as heck but it works

I like the accu-triggers on the Savage 22s. We outfitted our entire 4-H rifle team with them, and those kids could shoot 3 position match better than me.
I don't much care for the magazines. The mag retainer clips can be finicky. They are better than the mag setup on Marlins though.

Another yes vote. I had a gunsmith buddy rework the pull weight on the .22-250 as low as he could safely go and my .270 is like it came from the factory.

Savage is quality. I’ve toured their factory in Massachusetts. Great folks.

I despise them for hunting.

Reminds me of the old military triggers that have a mile of travel until they trip.

Remember though. Most folks aren’t a good enough rifleman to worry about that.

Have a .17 and a 270wsm with accutrigger. Both very accurate. Ive never had a savage that wasnt a tack driver. Let a .243 go years ago that was crazy accurate but i dont care for the caliber

And every firearm they make into the same standard. From top of the line to the cheapest model. They are all fantastic.

if the center part isn't depressed when the trigger pulled , it slips off an onto a shelf to make it not fire.

this way a 2 1/2 pound trigger pull can be run in a hunting rifle more safely.
it will let you user adjust it from about 5 to 2.5

Not my favorite triggers but not the worst I've used. The two I've had haven't been super consistent on the poundage they broke at.Best factory trigger I've used so far is Howas hact two stage trigger with the springs cut down to get to 1 1/2 pounds.

I have a .17HMR with Accu-Trigger and I like it just fine. The guns are great value for the money in my opinion... I couldn't imagine spending big bucks on a .22LR and then using it as a dispatch rifle LOL, but I have a Savage semi-auto that I bought for around $200 CDN that has seen thousands of rounds, rode in the truck for 100+ days a year for several years, fell in the mud, fell on the ice, got rusted from raccoon blood, etc that seems to only get better with age and eats the cheapest ammo without complaint.

Its a great way to get a good trigger on a budget rifle and be able to do so in our sue happy society.

yup because the inner trigger bar does the take up , then it basically breaks with very little movement

and once you have used it a little you won't even notice it is there

Aftermarket spring put my Ruger right at 2 lbs... pretty nice.

Is it a two-stage trigger? They have lots of travel.

My Rem 700 270 has a 2-stage Trigger Tech. None of my other rifles have 2-stage triggers. I don't object. I know when it is about to fire.

Friend of mine has an old Canjar trigger. It is a set trigger I think.

I was going to answer your question for you until I read, "I know when it is about to fire".
You first need to know that any time you gradually increase the pressure on the trigger, it is supposed to be a surprise when the trigger breaks.
If your goal is to "know when it is about to fire", you are setting yourself up to react to the recoil before it happens. That is not conducive to accurate shot placement whatsoever.
It might get you inside of a pie plate at 50 yards.

I like it when i know when the trigger is going to break. I have one gun that has a trigger that's set a little over a pound and a half, if you shoot the gun enough and really get a feel for the trigger it has the tiniest amount of creep ounces before it breaks. I really like it. Ive made hits out to a thousand yds. And have shot a good amount of 1/4 moa 3 shot groups with it. I think if you really want to shoot good you have to train yourself not to react to the shot at all. Ive really had to work on myself to keep looking through the scope and seeing impacts. Alot of people flinch at the trigger break even if they don't know when it's going to break.
