I think we can look at the 600,000 number a few different ways, considering the number of Chinese nationals hasn’t ever been this high, in American colleges and universities, in the past 5 years.
1. President Trump is experiencing another brain problem due to his age.
2. President Xi is paying the Trump administration big bucks to let Chinese kids come here.
3. The Chinese system can’t absorb all these kids in its own university system, so it’s cheaper to farm them out to foreign universities.
4. There are NO jobs for the graduates coming out of Chinese universities. The US has jobs and most of its graduates can get them within a year or so of graduation.

The Chinese university system is different than what we have here. Only about 17% of senior high school students get into universities there. Their educational system is stacked against kids getting beyond what they call senior middle school. Couples start saving for their kid’s university education before the kids are even born. Student debt just doesn’t happen there, or at least no where near what we have.
