Where do you find 3/8" fiberglass rods? Would be looking for 4' length, if possible. Want to try Hagz brackets for 110 coni"s, for rats. 5' would also work.

Just doing what I want now.

Fencing supply stores carry them.

Our local farm store usually has them on sale late in the year for $1.00 a piece. Understandably they don't last long.

I saw the white ones at Tractor Supply, (online), but was hoping for either orange or yellow. I suppose white would be easy to see before or after snow. Of course, a shot of orange paint on the tops would be the answer.
Thanks, everyone!

Fencing supply stores as stated above. Buy the white ones and buy a can of orange paint and dip 10 or so of them at a time.

No matter what kind you get I strongly suggest storing in a building and/or painting them in the off season. Uv light is the culprit and the glass will start to shed after 2-3 years if not protected. I have color coated for length but find I am grabbing the 4' colored blue ones more often. If in a deep water marsh I will use the 5' yellow ones. I got some from a Vineyard Supply store that are 8' green colored and use them in lake and ponds. Use electric fence post insulators in place of the Hagz for saving $. Works for me. ....................the mike

Bought mine at a farm supply store. Agree with Wife, keep them inside and paint them.

Thanks everyone. Last year was the first time in over 40 years I trapped muskrats. Been trapping in southeast Alaska all that time, and no trappable rat populations there.
Fittingly, my first furbearer was a muskrat, in 1974, in Oregon. No Hagz brackets back then, and probably 3/8" glass rods either. I just had a few #1 Victor longsprings that my dad used for gophers.
Had a lot of fun last year chasing rats again. I think they were worth more back in the mid-70's than I got last year, too!

Driveway markers are orange and yellow, 4' and I'm pretty sure 3/8", even has a reflective strip on top...

The highway markers sold at Menards, Lowes, Home Depot, etc., are 5/16" diam. but I have used them when coons or larger furbearers are not present. I have a lot of stories/experience with these (5/16" & 3/8" diam.) rods and got into a good discussion with Rich S. about 15 years ago on their usage. Suffice to say I held a lot of incidental coon in wetland/marsh situations as the longer ones held more catch circle vegetation (cattails, reeds, bulrush, etc.) when i connected with a coon. My experience. .............the mike

Geo-tek in Stewartville, Mn, makes several different sizes. I get mine from them. They are very familiar with trappers and trapping. Good people.

Can get the white ones and put 8 to 12 Inches of florescent duct tape on the top. Cur the tape to desired length lay it on hard flat surface put you stake on one edge and roll it across the tape fits almost perfectly

I worked with a lot of grazers and put up a lot of electric fence and much was using fiberglass stakes. I don't know if there are big differences between companies but the ones I was familiar with or using one could get shards, like slivers and those hurt. I also did not need that putting holes in gloves and gauntlets so I have stayed away from the fiberglass stakes. Maybe the newer ones are better. Could be too that fencing fiber stakes were or are out in the sun and a lot of weather more than those used for trapping.
