Are you expecting to get a good deal more having had them tanned than if you'd sold raw? I wasn't sure what the market for tanned skunk skins was like.

Well, the buyer of green hides will have to get them tanned at some point so buying them tanned would be an advantage. And the seller should get a better price.

Understand that, just wondered if the difference was enough to come out ahead after paying shipping there and back to the tannery. I was just curious... I've never sold any tanned fur so didn't know.

GFW posted their top prices for tanned and fleshed and dried skunks right here on Trap talk. . The difference was +$30 for tanned.

Yes those few there are worth more now tanned than just put up, with that one being worth a lot more with all the white and long tail.
Now normally it would only be a few dollars more as skunks as a rule don't usually amount to much fur wise, where they come into play for high dollars is their scent gland s and liquid gold so to speak, thats usually more than most skunks total fur value !

As an example I would have probably bid 40 to 60 dollars in an auction for that one overly white one, and 40 each for the others for my hat material inventory, and still might be out bid !!

Agreed, for professionally tanned skunks, that’s a pretty normal price.
