I've been accused of being an artist for years now so in my older age and terminal condition have decided ot go with that artist thing all out. So I got to playing with words like paint or wood and shape it and and have fun wiith it. So even though I hated poetry as a teenager I found it again and in spite of my best efforts they did educate me I reckon. I tend to paint vignettes so I like a writing style short and to the point, kind of Japanese Samurai style. I also place the title at the bottom, I would like , if they want, the reader to form their own opion then see mine, rather than me shaping their thoughts first. So here goes one I think may be liked by some here: Built in a time of power. Sent into the setting sun. To toil and do the beckoning of others. Now rests.

Are you trying to do this in the Haiku style?

I don't know I would have to look that up I suppose. Kind of just going with what whatever style ,I know they taught that kind of thing but I wasn't paying any attention at the time. I'm just playing with words like paint or wood and steel. Let others worry what style, I don't need to dissect it. I do know I tend to like the old Japanese style I think of it like draw, cut be done, (sword) short to the point with a bit of an egnima at times, I guess that's my style you could say. I look at it as art of the mind, just like my other art I don't follow others I hope that makes some sense plus I've only started doing this last week so it's still forming maybe?

Go for it do what you do. Don't really matter if it's not what others like. Just like the design of your wood or the color of your paint. Isn't going work for everyone. You do you.

Right on, thank you. I do this art thing because it's fun for me to make things, been doing it since I started taxidermy when I was twelve. . I found early on with wood carving that coping others isn't for me. If I want to carve a athing I look at the original, what God made, not some other guy or gal, and go from there

If it makes you feel good that's all that matters.

Very cool I like it alot, it really is more polished than mine I think. How long have you been writing? I would compare my poems to folk art in that there is no formal trianing done for the fun of it. Your poem is more what I would think of as someone who had formal treaining and in a more professonal manner, again I like it Thanks
