Just wondering if anyone has experience using barrel swivels on their coyote traps and what they liked or disliked. I'm thinking about adding them to my setups to help avoid the clogging I sometimes get with crunch proofs. Thanks!

I use a lot of 12/0 barrel swivels in my traps, I always try to use the true USA Roscoe brand swivels.

I see Rossco makes a large stainless ball bearing swivel that is rated to 507 #. That should do it! And remarkably, they are listed at $1.07 each.

Just doing what I want now.

They've been around since the 80's. Always used a few. Kendall's are the better ones. I use them for all body grippers. I got a coyote in a 220 Belisle set at a crawl under for coon. Got it by the front leg. It worked fine- kept my cable from being destroyed.. Scarred me when it jumped up out of the tall grass at 3am though!

Just passin through

Have used the BIG (12/0) ones since 1975 (from Netcraft) on dog runs and leashes. My original order of 12 for slightly less than 1.00 each was a little pricey then. Still have some with no complaints. Don't like barrel swivels for snares if using any extensions but for traps, the BIG ones are OK for coyote type furbearers. The Sterling and Conner Types are very good also and if you have a daily check law, the Crunch Proofs are great. Consider non-target incidentals that can foul your swivel with debris along with the strength. You have excellent choices in gear that we did not back in the 60's and 70's. My experience..................... the mike
