Slavery remained legal for a time in Maryland after the Emancipation Proclamation because that only applied to the Confederate states, while Maryland remained in the Union.

There are so many otters living in the back bay and storm drains they are harassing the nitwit tourists.....O.C. Animal Control called me in to calm tourists down...I told them how to cure it.
Never argue with a fool - they will drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

Pennsylvanians don’t need Maryland!! Heck I don’t even need Charleroi! Ten mile radius of home and an internal warning system starts going off… Then why are they always down here Smash? The place is loaded with PA tags.

Idk Rob. I’ll be darned if I spend the money or take the time and effort to hunt in a surrounding state unless they had something I didn’t that was spectacular… Younz don’t have caribou or badgers there so i don’t need to come over… Spread the word around PA. Nothing to see or do down here. They get pretty fired up over the liberal bag limits on white tailed deer and these tasty little critters called Sika deer.

Although I DID take a rail trip on western MD scenic railway! Thought it would be splendid to experience a dining car and a neat way to travel until a landslide altered our route away from the quaint shopping village we were promised and into an unfortunate “pop up” North Pole in a random stop. Steam locomotive was out of commission so we were surprised with a diesel Dinner was even more unfortunate and I ended up with severe diarrhea, on a train.
Never again, Maryland…never again.. That’s sounds like a really crappy time smash.

Can't even see Ocean City....aka "Baltimore-by-the-Sea"
and that is a good thing. Tax dollars generated from ocean city has really helped our county. And the tourists are only there for a couple months, I can deal with it. We’d have pizz poor public schools, terrible roads, etc if it weren’t for that island. And it brings clients to our charter boats and lots of support to the local businesses. We’ll gladly keep taking dollars from NJ, PA

They forget to go back home. Then when they move down here, they try to make it like the place they “escaped” from.

Watch out, it will become another Federal holiday like Juneteenth.
Keith The last legal slaves were held in Kentucky and Delaware, which were both in the UNION, where slavery remained legal until the 13th Amendment was ratified in December 1865, which was several months after Juneteenth in Texas.
