Now days they frown on displaying deer that way after a successful hunt. Might offend some people. Sure does bring back memories from when I was a kid. Most years we brought back a balsam for a Christmas tree from our land up north as well.

It said when transporting a dead deer, be mindful, tuck its tongue back in and wipe up any blood so as to not shock folks on the road. Struck me as funny.

I once saw some moron with a PU and a camper hauling a deer home hanging off the back of the camper. Just swinging back/forth down the highway.

Just deliberately trying to upset someone probably. I feel it is wise to be at least somewhat discreet with the animals you take home. You’re right, what a moron!

In our firearm training classes we tell the students not to display your harvested deer like some did years ago. Cars years ago had larger fenders and it was possible to strap deer on them. The heat from the engine could spoil the meat. So, it wasn't a good idea at the time. If possible put your deer in a trailer or inside your pickup topper.
