I had rampant growth of that stuff, thick and luxurious, low dose glyphosphate knocked it out around miss daisy's roses. It hasn't come back, ..there, ...still have it but it hasn't tried to take over like before.... I actually don't mind it, decent ground cover and nice blueish flowers early spring, the bees use it then...but I can see it being a problem where it's not wanted.

Problem is, it's Creeping into neighbor's pea gravel driveway.
My grapes are on an arbor that replaced a fence row.
yrs old and covered with fruit.
We don't want to kill the vine.
Last time we tried phosphate it killed.my 10-12 year old vine .
Hence the newer vine.
Might try burn to Contain.
Would luv to kill it.

I got a small propane burner that works pretty good, In your case it should work at least to keep the edges clear

You could try AIM or REly but read the labels so you don't injure your grape vines. As with most chemicals they work best when plants are young and small and growing well.

A lot of organic growers use boiling water and vinegar to kill Creeping Charlie/ground ivy. Both would be unlikely to harm your grapes if they are at least a few feet away.

I like the smell when I mow ground ivy. My paternal grandfather had a lot of it in his yard, at his old house and I can remember smelling it when he was working in his yard, when I was very young.

At this point a good frost will do the work for you.

Sorry, frost doesn't kill it,... zero degrees doesn't kill it... you must be thinking of something else

You could try covering it with something like tar paper.

I use a canner full of boiling water sometimes if I have a spot I want something killed that's close to the house so the kids don't get in it.

Thx guys.
I will try the boiling water.
If not then I will get a burner .
I'm hoping to stay away from chemicals.
But I'm using as last resort.
Gives me time to read up on the one's suggested.
Would I delete the vinegar?
I do have a couple of extra gallons.

My wife has a recipe for the vinegar spry. I don't have it. I'm sure it's online somewhere but she mixes 1/2 gallon at a time and sprays whatever she wants dead and it dies as good as any chemicals.

Sprinkle Boric Acid on the Creeping Charlie. Best when covered in dew or just after a rainfall.

Normal white vinegar is about 5% to 8% acetic acid. The best type of vinegar to use is herbicidal vinegar, which is around 20% acetic acid or stronger. Most garden stores sell it and you can buy it online too.
