My grandson was airlifted to St. John’s last night..
He managed to somehow get into pegs blood pressure medication. He climbed up and got into the medicine cabinet…
It was childproof lids even.
Scary stuff…
He’s obviously very smart and very strong to get one of those open.
Peg is feeling absolutely horrible this morning..she’s blaming herself.

You would almost think that someone had placed some kind of spell on us..the luck we seem to have isn’t always the good kind.
Sometimes it seems more than just every day life kinda stuff.

Where was the adult supervision? If he has to crawl up on something to get at them. That is (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) poor supervision. You and your wife should feel horrible. There is no spell, on you.

Yes, really, it's a child you watch them. I raised 4 children, I had no spell on me.

You have no one to blame for stuff like this.

You're right in that there is no one to blame. Accidents happen. Glad you were such a perfect helicopter dad that never let your children out of their sight. Most people give their children a little autonomy to live and learn life's lessons. We don't know what happened. Maybe whatever adult that was home was taking a shower with the child there in the bathroom with them when he scaled the sink to get the pills. Maybe he/she was making the child's lunch in the kitchen and figured the boy was just down the hall playing with toys. IMO, your post was incredibly judgmental and in very poor taste, especially when a family is going through something like this. Sad.

I.can guarantee, my parents couldn't keep an eye on us six boys every minute of the day, kids explore and get in trouble plain and simple, I can't imagine any parent having there eye on a child 247.

I've seen toddlers look at their parents to see if they are watching and then take off running to do something. Little kids can be pretty sneaky.

We will be watching our 5yr old grandson and 3yr old granddaughter all weekend and things like this are always a constant fear. Luckily neither my wife or I are on any medications, but there are many other hazards. We set strict boundaries in the house and enforce them.

We don’t hover over them constantly but keep a fairly close eye. We went half a day or more without our parents looking over us and somehow survived.

Prayers for your grandchild. Hope they have a speedy recovery and no long lasting effects.

These days they can ask Siri how to open a pill bottle. A kid can work a tablet or cell phone better than I can. I am sorry this happened!

Let me guess, you were the parent that walked around with a leash on your kids.

I will just flat out say it. Either you have a selective memory or got very lucky. Not a single one of us here that never had one of our kids get away from us at some point and we were just lucky nothing bad happened And if you claim not your just plain not truthful.

If you really raised 4 children and you "think nothing happened" then you weren't paying attention.

I remember when my kid swallowed some 22 shells , my wife was furious ..
Doc said , no worries he will just poop them out !
I had emptied out my pockets on the night stand , along with some change …
Stuff happens , just can’t leave anything small laying around ..
It’s an accident, luckily he was fine

1less dog, the medicine was in the top of the medicine cabinet, which is pretty high up for a 3 year old..
If you want the rest of the story,,, ( which I didn’t share on trapperman or anyplace else) is that ALL of my grandchildren are staying with us at the moment..there are 6 total…
There’s a situation where they, and their parents ( my son and his fiancé) are temporarily homeless.
My son, his fiancé and the youngest grandson ( the one who was airlifted) are currently staying elsewhere.
Last night, the house was full of kids,, my son, his fiancé and Lincoln came by so the family could be together.
You ever try to keep an eye on that many kids at once?
You claim negligence?

As far as a curse,,, I said that it sure feels like it, I didn’t say that there was for definite…

And ty for your concerns and the condition of my grandson , he was released from the hospital late this afternoon.

That's cool it is just going to become a story and hopefully a lesson to the other kids.. Had to be scary for everyone, but God is good and some times He lets us see.
