My grandson was airlifted to St. John’s last night.. He managed to somehow get into pegs blood pressure medication. He climbed up and got into the medicine cabinet… It was childproof lids even. Scary stuff… He’s obviously very smart and very strong to get one of those open. Peg is feeling absolutely horrible this morning..she’s blaming herself.
You would almost think that someone had placed some kind of spell on us..the luck we seem to have isn’t always the good kind. Sometimes it seems more than just every day life kinda stuff.

They were monitoring him after giving him charcoal and other antidotes to counter the pills… he’s not out of the woods,, but the doctor said he’s probably going to be okay.. downright terrifying

Where was the adult supervision? If he has to crawl up on something to get at them. That is (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) poor supervision. You and your wife should feel horrible. There is no spell, on you.

Yes, really, it's a child you watch them. I raised 4 children, I had no spell on me.
You have no one to blame for stuff like this. You're right in that there is no one to blame. Accidents happen. Glad you were such a perfect helicopter dad that never let your children out of their sight. Most people give their children a little autonomy to live and learn life's lessons. We don't know what happened. Maybe whatever adult that was home was taking a shower with the child there in the bathroom with them when he scaled the sink to get the pills. Maybe he/she was making the child's lunch in the kitchen and figured the boy was just down the hall playing with toys. IMO, your post was incredibly judgmental and in very poor taste, especially when a family is going through something like this. Sad.

We will be watching our 5yr old grandson and 3yr old granddaughter all weekend and things like this are always a constant fear. Luckily neither my wife or I are on any medications, but there are many other hazards. We set strict boundaries in the house and enforce them.
We don’t hover over them constantly but keep a fairly close eye. We went half a day or more without our parents looking over us and somehow survived.
Prayers for your grandchild. Hope they have a speedy recovery and no long lasting effects.
