I haven't had as much time in the woods as I'd like, but I have been seeing a fair amount from the road. I even ran one over last week that ran across at the wrong time.

Was at camp last weekend, south central-ish UP. Actually made a comment to my brother that there seemed to be less grouse than normal.

Granted it was raining on and off, but usually we have them thick as thieves and only saw 2 I think all day

Still pretty green with plenty to eat so maybe they were all all camped out on food and don't have to wander much right now.

Season opens this weekend. Should hear some reports.

I won't start hunting until mid October at the earliest

Interesting.
I’ve been to NW Wisconsin several times. Thinking about trying some different country.
