His last name pronounced "doo-FRAYN" no relation to Andy, the guy from Shawshank Redemption.

Who all remembers when he was a member here? He built supplies like trowels, hammers etc... and did trap modifications that were unrivaled by anyone I've ever seen, before or since. He made IMO some of the best trap mod guys' work look almost shoddy in comparison, and amateurs like me ashamed to show my trap mod work. lol

Anyone have some pictures of his work? He is great guy too, just, unfortunately for the trapping world, changed directions in his line of work as I recall.

I sure remember pictures of his work it looked awesome. At the time I was using some traps from Tom Stalker and John Cloud and here lately I talked Gary (The Hammer) into doing some work for me.

I'm spoiled but had I needed a good hand, I'd have tried Jason out back when he was available.

These are some he sent me of the TS85's he modified for wolves and lions. Only ones I have. He TIG welded everything and ground it down smooth. Lamination runs jaw tip to tip and he welded the baseplate solid. Added #5 Bridger springs and went with heavier bolts.

I can tell you from experience, he spent a LOT of time on one trap doing all that TIG welding and grinding.

They sure do! Hopefully there's some pictures of his other works as well like his trowels and stake drivers.

I have two #2 dbls that he made dogless with expanded pans. I happened across them at a convention and snatched them up when I saw his mark on the pan.

Can you post some pictures of them? I'm sure some of the new guys here would love to see them.

i remember seeing alot of his mods and stuff on here. he did really nice work no question about it. i always asked my myself WHY? its just a trap, why go through all that work welding in material and grinding and sanding down smooth etc. for instance he would weld laminations on and then weld the whole seem in and grind down smooth and polish it. etc. its just a trap it will work and hold just as good without filling it in and grinding smooth and polishing.

WHY he did it was because he enjoyed doing it, not that it was needed he just enjoyed doing it. after awhile im sure he got tired of doing all that work for such little pay.

the time and effort he put into those traps was worth 10 times what the traps was actually worth.

i use to really enjoy modding traps and making them stronger and better etc. after awhile you do so many for so long you begin to dread it and then hate doing it.

thats why i really like no bs extremes and extreme jrs. i don't have to baseplate or laminate or anything.

When I get home from work I'll try to remember to get out to the shed and snap a picture. They aren't one of his fancier mods, but they're still cool in my book.

I’ve got a ton of his work, including several one of a kind traps and other things. I’d have to dig some stuff out as I just moved everything into the new shop. ADC is right. He made things look like they came from a factory.
