My wife was telling me about a 'gender reveal' party that my daughter in law was having at her house and wanted me to go with her. I didn't know what a gender reveal was, but I did know that my daughter in law had a fruitcake brother who hadn't yet made it all the way out of the closet. I knew that I wasn't going to that. My wife was mad as all get out until I told her why I wasn't going. Then she told me what a reveal party was for, but she said that I couldn't go because she didn't want to be seen with somebody so stupid.
That couldn't have worked better if I had planned it. I went and caught a bunch of shellcrackers instead.
Gender reveal parties are ridiculous.. Just tell people.
The trans people are the ones most angered by gender reveal parties. They don't believe the parents have a right to state the gender of the children without the children telling them what it is first. There has been attempts by transgenders to make gender reveals illegal on public property, such as parks.
