Not me , but my dad had made it to the 17 gallon mark. That takes a long time and dedication.

Nice Turtledale!

I need to set up an appointment to donate plasma shortly. We are fortunate to have a plasma donation center here, as I have close family who requires regular injection of fractionated plasma in order to be healthy.

I'll admit, I first donated selfishly - because I love the person who needs it. But I came to realize that it really is so little to give when it could mean EVERYTHING to someone in need... when it could prevent the loss of a loved one, when it could save a life. I really admire those folks who started and have always donated blood just because they knew it was the right thing to do... so to all who donate

THANK YOU

Just happy to be here.

Heck yeah. I used to donate all the time. Haven’t in a few months. Need to get back out there, thanks for the reminder.

I used too, got tired of failing all the test. Blood pressure too high. My count was always high. Just gave up.

I gave 18 gallons. Was aiming for 20. Got a letter about 15 years ago saying I could give again and to seek advice from my doctor, which I did. Doc said they thought I might have AIDS. First test vial failed but the alternate vial was good. Go figure.

Fifteen years later and still no AIDS or HIV. No other blood test showed any signs.

I've been a platelet donor for several year. They allow us to donate a bit more frequently than a whole blood donor or strictly a plasma donor. We can donate about every 2 weeks as opposed to a plasma donor who can donate every 28 days. Not sure about whole blood donors. I;m somewhere around 25 gallons or so now. Really not sure what the total is.

I do regularly. Three more pints to go to hit 20 gallons. Sure would like to see more people give. It's a small thing to do to help those in desperate need. Like Vinke said it's like an oil change and a couple days after giving I feel recharged. Take a small amount of time from your day and give.

I do not. I should, especially since I have the blood everyone needs.

Got a 44 gallon pin, mostly platelets. Finally an irregular heart beat stopped my donations. Laying around bleeding was something I was really good at.

No platelet donation close to me. Just whole blood and Power Red donation. For regular blood you can give every 2 months for Power Red its every 4 months and they take a quart after it's separated. This is Red Cross donation.
