Didn't want to sidetrack big Sam's baiting thread, but I have a question. Baiting is NOT legal in PA. However, is it legal for a farmer to let some corn stand in an advantageous area, and later in the season mow it down with a bushhog or simply drive it down to expose the corn and then hunt over it? Would this be considered a farming practice in a court of law?

Probably get cited. Brush hogging standing crops isn’t what would normally be considered as an accepted farming practice. Maybe if the field did poorly, and wasn’t economically viable to harvest. Lots of grain gets spilled when making turns with the harvester and gravity boxes. That’s ok to hunt over.

Wonder if it’s similar to how the Feds allow standing flooded corn for ducks and geese and mowing sunflower fields for doves. They call it normal agricultural practices. But is it really?

Stop over cooking your meat! It isn’t gamey, it’s over cooked!

In PA the game commission is planting sunflower fields on game lands and mowing them prior to season also
