Teach me to not keep my dillo gun handy in the shop. I'm just gonna saw the 3" off and keep rolling. Killed an armadillo with it less than two weeks ago, but last weeks inch rain was all it takes to get those pesky insects out and about and screwing things up! I fight them constantly with my seed drills and sprayers.

I used to keep a balloon or a rubber over the barrel of my garage gun just for that reason.

Thanks Keith. Yeah, I'm glad it happened at the end of the barrel. I've had that gun fro 36 years. I got it for my 10th birthday. An old H&R .410.

Dang things get in my fur shed. The walls are insulated but no paneling over the paper backed fiberglass. They make their nests on the paper. Have to wait till fall then crumble them up so I dont tear the paper. I dont keep any guns outside. No chickens to protect or anything so I rarely kill skunks possums coon etc in the yard. My dad kept a 22 leaning in a corner by the back porch door to protect his chickens.

Always good idea to ensure the impeller water tube on your outboard is not plugged by them too.

P.S. I'm glad you didnt get a piece of barrel in the eye or something.

They aren't real bad here, but they do like to plug the end of LP fitting on grill if not on tank. Also had them stuff up the water outlet on boat motor and key hole on paddle lock.
Did you get the critter? Or just pop the barrel end?

Popped the barrel, but critically wounded the assailant. My jack russel finished him off.

Now check the mufflers on any small engines. That's where they have given me problems.

Got an old tractor they plugged the exhaust up on. No ide shot o splitting it to clean i out.

Weed eater won't start when they plug the exhaust.

We used to put a condom on the muzzle of our M-16's to keep rain and crud out of the barrels. Common practice in WW2 and since.

Funny you say that. I learned it from a friend that kept a rubber on his M-16 barrel in Vietnam.
