Youngest went to the local highschool foot ball game to hang out with friends last night. He is 13 and we tell him not to leave the ball field.

Over the summer there have been issues with a black/mixed 15 year old kid and his crew of followers 2 to 4of them. Making threats. This kid is a local problem. Cussing and acting a fool at the local park and geting in parents faces when they say something to him becuse they are there with their small kids. He is always fighting everyone and always wins so the local tough guy bullying jack leg. I heard he is in foster care and heard the local cops even tell my boys after they had just been threatened by him to lay him out and they would look the other way BUT dont do it on school property because then they can't look the other way. The wife was told by the cops basically their hands are tied but the kid is a huge problem.

So back to last night's game. My son saw this kid throw his cheese burger at the old lady volunteer in the concession booth hiting her with it becuse he said his order was not right. Then walk over and hit a girl in the head. My boy jumped in said thats enough. Got the what are you going to do about it thing. Well they went across the street. The bully found out he was not as bad as he thought he was. Tried a sucker punch that was deflected connecting with my son's collar bone on. the right side. that got a right to the mouth that staggered and droped the bully instant response. My son thought well its over but the kid got up staggered then rushed for a tackle that got side stepped and the bully getting control ogf the bullys head and his face getting 3 upper cuts to his eye and orbital bone area while he was bent over at the wast ending the fight. Now my son made a few mistakes in the fight backing off the kid twice instead of pushing his advantage and finishing it immediately untill there was no chance the bully would want/ be able to continue and not let the bully recover and come at him again.

As with everything theas days apparently it was caught in video, I have not seen or found yet. But my son has gotten several messages from girls saying they saw the video and "omg how did he beat that guys ### Like that no one ever beats him". This concerns me even more now the kid has lost his im the bad boy toughest guy around image and want to retaliate and thing escalating to maybe knife or club.

On one hand im proud of my boy for standing up for what's right and the bully needed taught a lesson. On the other I told him not to leave the ball field and he could have got the cop that is always at school events. ( the rational today's answer) So im a bit conflicted. My pride in him really make me not able to be mad at him but also he did disobey the rules leaving the ball field. But the bully did need the lesson. ( to bad it won't stick) And like my mom said you can't get mad at him he he is a carbon copy of you and reminded of times I did very similar things taking up for weaker kids all through school and she had to come to school over. She is correct as moms typically are.

Tonight there is a festival in town the boys want to go to tonight. Part of me wants to tell them nope don't want any potential problems the other part is they will be fine and let have fun. I think let them have fun part will win out.

Anyway Typing this out clears my head a little.
What's the vote let them go or keep them home. The youngest went alone last night the oldest said he didn't want to go to avoid a few girls that have not been leaving him alone he has blocked and didn't want to deal with them. So it wouldn't be fare to tell him no he didn't disobey and leave the ball field. on the outh hand I dont want them alone without back up.

Good he dealt with the kid, I wouldn't get too upset him leaving the school, cops told him not on school property so....

But.... he needs to watch his back, doubt it's over, back up is necessary....3, 4 on 1 is bad odds ...

He needs a tough guy image. Tell him to grease his hair, wear a leather jacket and chain smoke unfiltered Camels.

Myself personally IF it were my boy. Ive told him only fight if it can't be avoided no preplanning to go somewhere to fight. If it isnt urgent enough to fight "onsite" then there is time for other plans that dont then escalate to knives or clubs as you say. You said there was a school cop and plenty of adults around. Not a good idea to leave a crowd and possibly have this seemingly out of control teen not stop if he had the upper hand. Just lots can go wrong from a "normal" fist fight.

Now if he came at my boy aggressively at the game then that seems like an "on site" situation

He stepped up to a known troublemaker I’d buy the kid a shake if I was on duty. He did right finishing the guy right off could go bad in many ways the kept going after your boy puts your boy in a better position.

That's why we have so much bulling going on today IMO. Not letting your child stand up to them makes them a target. Always told my kids not to start it but don't back down if you think your in the right or defending the weaker.

Bullies will continue to bully if not stood up to.

Absolutely. Had this happen in grade school 30 years ago. Had a group circle me on the play ground and took turn pushing me around from behind teacher standing back smiling and laughing.. BUT as soon as I droped the first one and moved to the next closest down with leg sweep, and then to the 3rd she had me by the arm on the way to the office I went. I was in trouble untill mom got there. By the Time we left the teacher was in tears begging not to be fired. You don't mess around with moms cubs
But when she heard the teacher was watching me get pushed around and smiling and laughing and did nothing that was it look out. I have a darn good mom.

But today there is zero tolerance even for defending yourself. Making for a country of jellyfish weak men.

So I thing im going to let them go to the festival tonight.

I'd be more concerned about retaliation from the kid he put down, in a less common area where your boy gets trapped with this kids friends as well, bullies like this always try a second time to make them get back on top and unfortunately they never fight fair and might have a weapon this time !

Your son should travel with friends for a while and not be aggressive in any manner to any one, also should be very wary of others watching him from distances.

Tough times when you are the one to finally drop a loud mouth who, doesn't have to worry about any consequences from authorities or parents, this just gives the bad guy mostly free rein to make things equal in his mind, they don't have a time line either could be any time, could be way latter !

Think composite toed shoes best undetectable protection you can have they come in a verity of shoe types it’s a quick way to disable a threat giving you enough time to get control of a situation or away from one. I favor composite over steel toe shoes that can carry negative view in some courts and show up on metal detectors.

Composite allows for an efficient shin strike temporarily crippling your opponent/opponent’s while protecting your toes better than regular shoes. The toes have more protection in a foot stomp attempt also. All of my work and casual shoes have protective toes.

Let him go, just tell him to watch his back. Can't live sitting at home especially at 13. You should be proud that he attempted to turn the other cheek in not finishing it from the get go but equally as proud that he finished after having no other choice.

Tell him to go and have fun. Tell him you're PROUD of how he handled the situation. That there WAS justification in him leaving school grounds to handle it like a man. Take a buddy and watch yourself. Talk to some of those new chicks that were also proud of his handling of the school idiot.

The boys are getting ready now. Im going to drop them off then wife and I go back and watch the drone show later and bring them home. May take my wife out to eat in-between if I can convince her she does not need to cook dinner but she will want something here ready for our daughter when she gets home from work and we won't be back befor she is in bed so bringing something back won't work. The boy will/can eat at the festival. We will see. Woman thinks the world will end if she is not cooking our meals. Its part of her identity. Im quite blessed.

Probably go squirrel hunting/deer scouting for youth season and do some shooting of deer guns tomorrow. Will try out that new suppressor and check point of impact change.

Its so nice to be off work and home for 6 days. Hopefully the kids have fun and no more issues.

I thought 2 or 3 weeks ago they were in trouble and you weren't going to let them hunt in youth season.

I agree with all you said. I lived by you've got stand for something or you fall for anything. He stood for what's right. That you should be proud of. Never started a fight but always finished them. Never give them a second chance. Fear today is people go for guns. After a fight we never went out alone either.

I always taught my son that the first hit will set the stage for the fight, so hit 'em as hard as you can.
