My wife and I were just discussing this..... it must be acceptable losses to the cartels. Lots of boats must still be getting through to keep running them, knowing if they see you there won't be much but pieces left.

The way to fix the cartels is to sanction the Mexican government until they stop allow the cartels to rule. Watch Narcos Mexico. Very good series on netflix.

If only the government would all agree to sanctions both parties they could solve that problem easily. With one party fighting every common sense and trying to make US better it won't happen. My hats goes off for the Pres. for at least trying no other Pres. would take on the problem just let things get worse they must not care.

Read an article about this...small fishing villages basically starving with no gov't promised support feel they have no choice.... villagers can tell who accepted a trip cause they're suddenly buying clothes, good meat and other goodies. Apparently the pay is good but not the big score you'd think.

These trips have dried up with the heavy enforcement...but when desperate some will still try...not cartel boats, just some poor dumb fishermen transporters trying to make a living...

You want to hurt the cartels?, get the corruption out of Mexican gov't, military, and police...don't hold your breath though.

I am cynical. No U.S. politicians, no CEO's, no bankers arrested yet. Street drugs don't seem to be drying up. No labs blown up. I still don't believe there is a war on drugs.

Remember the same story about Somali pirates? Poor fisherman who had no choice other than to get some AK 47s and RPGs and attack yachts and take hostages. Buncha bs imo.

Closing the boarders and taking out drug runners is a start. I guess we shall see if it grows from here.

There are dozens of videos on net of coast guard shooting up engines to stop suspected drug boats. So Trump takes it a step farther blows them up.

I could careless how many foreigner Trump blows up. Could have saved ton money just mine the border.
Thing is not so sure I like Idea of him being judge jury and executioner especially in international waters.
But here's a different twist for you when comes to the war on drugs and follow the money.
If their really trying to stop the drugs from coming to the US. Why are they not following these boats. Waiting until their making their drop. Blow up them and ones they deliver to?? Send that message?? Is this blowing up boats coming out just another way to get applauds from his supporters? Or in the art of the deal better deal for his people on receiving end?
Why are they not hanging the people the boat load of supposed drugs was going to be delivered??? Why do they not know who they are??

Because if we tail them into our waters in an effort to trace down the buyers then the scum suc, I mean lawyers, get involved. But I'm cool with blasting them as well.
