had the Davis Go tent a couple months now , got 7 nights in it on 2 trips , really like it , very comfortable extra roomie for just me , room for a second and a 3rd if no wood stove.

I don't have the wood stove for it yet , I do have a Big Buddy LP heater I used with it on one trip that was 40 at night , I forget who here said , buddy heater set it so you can just barely reach it from your cot , lean out when you wake up , light it and give it 10 minutes and you have a very nice comfortable tent to get out and get dressed for the day in.
that was great advice.
at 40 it was like 5 minutes if that.

you can see a blue line in the inside picture just below the ridge pole , I use that when I hang it up in the barn to dry when I get home.
almost impossible when you get a rain or heavy dew to get it dry at the camp site. but 1-2 days hanging in the machine shed it is great

I set it up and take it down entirely by myself which was the reason for the GoTent in the first place

the trip this last weekend to pool 10 it was 60 at night 80 during the day , the fan was nice 3 nights 4 days of fishing it makes a great base camp for fishing

[Linked Image]
stake the 4 corners , then the sides and put in side poles they sit on the stakes
[Linked Image]
stake out the 4 corner lines but not too tight yet
[Linked Image]
put in the ridge pole and upright poles
[Linked Image]
get the lines on all the side poles
[Linked Image]
go around and tighten the sides then the 4 corners till it all gets taught

I packed it up Monday morning in the dark , and was at the boat launch at first light so I could get some hours of fishing in before heading home

about a half hour I didn't time it

and I was drinking beer both setting it up and taking it down , so not that strenuous every time I put poles in the bag over on the picnic table have some more beer.

start to finish 50 minutes and packed and in the truck with everything on the take down , that was everything in the tent as well.

quiet time ends at 06:00 , sun rise was 07:05 I was driving away from the camp site at 06:50
not that I was partiality loud taking it down , but some poles clank

Nice looking tent. Good choice.

Considered getting a fly? If so, suggestion: get a swallowtail fly. The swallow tail end goes over the front of the tent. Maybe bring it back so ten inches or so of the V is over the front peak. The tails pull down and stake near the tent. Then pole/stake out the front and sides. Makes the union of the two weatherproof.

I've got one about fifteen feet long and another about 25 feet long with center pole.

though about it yes , done it no

that is a good idea

I am not sure how much I would use it , when I am by myself I just go in the tent and sit out of the bugs and have plenty of space to move around , I could see if I was adding a 2nd or 3rd person where the fly would get more use.

I guess I will just need to add a second person , you know any single ladies looking for a guy with a tent and a boat?

I found her 26 years ago. Her tent was bigger than mine. But she didn't have a boat.

I found the first one 27 years ago , she didn't have a tent or a boat , but cancer sucks , so now I set up the tent myself.

The only ones I know are single for a reason (or multiple reasons). And I wouldn't wish them on anyone.

well red heads I'd be willing to try , dancers maybe not I'm not good at sharing.

what is annoying is the number of viciously anti Trumpers , I am no trump fan.

I don't let it consume my life , like it is a thing now that so so many women are so viscously anti trump , the HATE , the RAGE, you might recognize them as people who cheered the death of Charlie Kirk.

the Hate just totally consumes them , they work themselves up into a rage over it.

I honestly don't care who is , gay , trans , LGBTQ+ ,ultra evangelical. I live my life they can live their life we can live in a way that we both have rights without the hate.

I make a point of not watching the news , I am a happier person for it, I hear enough here and go look at what I want to check out.

I didn't even know who Charlie Kirk was till the day he was shot.
I think it is safe to say if he felt anything it was for sub second not even long enough to comprehend what had just happened.
but the hurt that was put on his wife and kids is forever. the hate at him and his family is forever.
he was a guy speaking his points , embracing the freedom of speech our first amendment right , to kill him or anyone for speaking and using their first amendment right is , just wrong.
to take a kids father away for that , a womans husband , a families son , that is just wrong all the way through no matter who they are.

I don't have any room in my life for a person with that much hate in theirs.

so that takes out half the single women maybe more , talk about making it even harder you have to try and find someone not filled with hate before you can even start talking about anything else.

.

Wall tents are great, spent some good nights in them. A stove keeps you very warm, shirts and Hawaii shirts required on hunting trips.

Nice tent, GCP! I used to rendezvous with a 14X16 wall tent with a 14X16 walled fly in front. That was back when I was Black Otter Trading Co....."The Pamida of the Prairie" to some....."Great Black Odor" to others.

...Some times near Pewter Ernie who used to excavate under his tent looking for artifacts at Prairie du Chien. When it got to be time to go he and his son would drop his tent and bail outta there faster than you could say 'Here comes the law!"

dating yourself with Pamida , let alone Pamida of the Prairie

I was telling someone about Pamida the other day , as we drove by the old Pamida in Sturgeon bay , they had never heard of it , I said it was like a Kmart , they had heard of that but realizing they went out a business 20 years ago they had never been to one

this is a 12x12 it is just about what one guy can reasonably fold and roll on his own

Love Davis tents. I trap out of a 14x16 for the month of November up in the big woods. Great fun, about to go set it up in a couple weeks for this season coming up. I got a fly and awning to go on it this year. Such a great set up.

Nice tent! Been half-heartedly looking for a wall tent. That looks like a pretty reasonable price too.
