My credit score has been dropping because I don’t owe anything as crazy as that sounds but it a real deal. LOL Today I get this offer and they must think it’s a great offer but I think its a joke that’s mafia rates 28% its crazy.

Your right, it's usury, but doesn't matter if you pay the balance every month.....

Just don’t chase your credit score it’s not worth it if you’re paying for points that don’t really matter. I see the commercials and the scores they think are good I’m like really that what your shooting for?

Am I reading that wrong or can I buy something and pay 0% interest for 24 months?

APR is Annualized Percentage Rate. If you pay your bill off in 24 months you pay no interest (assuming of course the billing period is monthly).

Well I don’t need it or want it so I’m good either way. I can’t imagine paying 28% interest it would be hard to get out from under that kind of rate.

Looks like in the fine print theres a 5% fee on the amount of certain transactions like balance transfers if you do a outright purchase they would get a percent back from the merchants is where they make money from it.

I found that out years ago when I went debt free. Paid everything off early saved lots of money. But as stated they want you to owe and not be free of debt.

I don't have any concern with a credit score rating. It is only those that want to stay indebted with car, truck, mortgage and loans payments that keep a high score if they don't default on payments. Pay cash, payoff and pay no interest if possible.

Looks like the cash advance fee is over 32% still not as crazy as some the payday loan interests rates I seen working at the jail. SD put a limit on the rates the one guy in Sioux Falls packed up and moved out of state he was not happy.

At one time, South Dakota had the highest credit card rates in the nation. Many companies moved their operations there to take advantage of the high rates.

My DNL is the lead physician in a medical practice. She charges medicines and supplies to an office card. The doctors and their families fly free wherever they go, and they buy holiday gifts for their staff with accumulated credit card points. They pay in full each month, so any interest rate is inconsequential.

I wonder what the default and bankruptcy rate is for credit card users. I knew a woman who would go on a spending spree as soon as she got a new card. She would get so deep in debt that the companies would accept a partial payment and forgive the balance, just to get her loans off their books. She got the money from a new balance transfer from another company. She once had a car loan forgiven by a lender, just to get something rather than nothing.

Seen one before the changes came about the rate was 325% I had to look at it a few times to believe that rate was real.

I went most of my life without a credit card, no car loans, no house loans, no school loans... but the problem was, that left me with no credit. Two years ago I got a credit card, and now I have good credit. I'd have to check, but I think my APR is 30-something. I don't care what it is because I never need to use it. Every month I use it to buy one fast food meal so I don't have to cook... $25 or less. Then, I have it set up where it automatically pays my credit card bill in full from my checking account on the due date each month. In two years I've never paid a dime of interest, and now have good credit if I should ever need a loan for something.

The fact that interest rates are tied to a credit score is beyond stupid and only benefits the lender in terms of how much they can legally take from you. I have no problem with a credit score as an indicator of wether you should be offered a loan. We get hosed on big purchases usually because we pay everything off much sooner than the original loan was for, as previously mentioned that is a problem for the banks as they don't make as much from you. So we pay higher interest to account for the fact that we pay our loans sooner, (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman). We just built a new house and funny how the tone changes with the lender when you start indicating you will be making additional principal payments monthly, suddenly your interest rate quote might have been a little low "The market is constantly changing you know."
