Got an opportunity for continuing education tonight hosted by Elanco and the Hopwood House restaurant!

Featured a flea/tick/ heartworm prevention product and also one of their allergy medications.
We had a nice spread of food and of course anything we would like to drink!!
An emerging threat is a very small tapeworm hard to see with the naked eye called echinococcus; spread by, none other than our rascally foxes and coyotes!

Yes! I never eat that much at a sitting! And since it was a buffet style, and the other techs were leaving quickly, we did ask for a little container.
So he has lunch today!

I’m not sure what that chutney looking stuff is with the cheese? Maybe an olive tappinade? But it was awesome. And that’s honey on the Brie.

No money. The drug company probably spent a small fortune for us to eat there.
I had never been to this restaurant before.
I hear they have escargot some nights. Would like to try

Does Ivermectin still kill that worm?

From what I know it is not effective entirely on its own. The parasite causes cysts in the liver and lungs. Sometimes ivermectin can be injected directly into the cyst as a form of treatment ?

My wife was a nurse’s aid for 25 years. Believe me, stories from a hospital can gross out even a trapper!

What about the standard houndsman monthly of 1/10cc per 10lbs as a preventative? Seems like that could get it early before the cysts form.

Idk about the ivermectin you’re guys use for everything! Couldn’t advise..

LOL Smash, even my vet let's me know when I can save money by using Ivomec instead of coming to him. Biggest money-saver being heartworm prevention.

Angela we don’t see a lot of heartworm in my region. Maybe that is why? I don’t know.
People in my area still claim that Avon skin so soft kills fleas
