Each rodent has a distinct fecal configuration. Roof rats in particular. If you have them they will most always be found at an elevated location if at all possible. Must be an instinctual trait in keeping them high and safe from ground predators.

When you catch one examine the tail length compared to the body length. Roof rats have an unusually long tail compared to Norway rats and larger ears and pointed snout.

Cool, thanks!
So, last night I set a couple 110s and a rat snap trap, but no catches. I also sat out in the barn with a BB gun last night for an hour to see what I could see, and all I saw was a bunch of little mice. I heard some loud sounds though that might have been rats running around. What do you guys use for rat bait on your traps?

11 month open season on Leprechauns , season only closes down for March

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Ah, okay that makes sense now. I assume that's a federal thing? grin
