Tom is alot older than I expected… almost 70 years old .
He’s got a new trapping video coming out next week and as I was googling some information about it,,, I saw that he’s 68.
Sometimes I guess we forget about our ages too.
It’s pretty darn cool that tom is one of the very few high profile hunters who still promote trapping. Ted nugent is the only other high profile hunter that I know of who promotes trapping.
Tom definitely paid his dues on the trapline , but I don’t know if Ted is an active trapper.

Tom has an unbelievable work ethic the energizer bunny has nothing on the man. Working long days and short nights then just keeps doing that not sure when his mind gets to rest.

I follow his page and he is quick to interact with his followers. Nice guy I’ve always liked him. I’ll be 60 this November and I don’t know how that happened. My dad passed last year and it’s like overnight I’m older now. I was 30 just yesterday it seems. It goes so fast!!

Yeah (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) I’ll be 60 this season myself and I remember seeing him at conventions and demos when I was in high school in 80s. He was very helpful with my questions.
Carrol Black was another I followed a bit and he was good at answering my letters back then too.
Tom has had quite a lifestyle in outdoors business. Always admired that.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

His "big book" is a great read... when I think of making barrels of lure, purchasing 5 gallon buckets of glands, etc. it kind of puts his work ethics in perspective...

My first college apartment was basically on the street Tom grew up on. That guy learned how to trap (muskrats, coon, fox) along side I70 and 270 on the East side of Columbus Ohio. Imagine growing up a city rat off of Brice Road in White Hall Columbus trapping Big Walnut Park water drainage... and now living where he does with the trophy room he has. Crazy if you know the area and appreciate such things. Total respect. Imagine giving everything up to start a Youtube channel today. We dont have the marbles to do it now. Imagine having the marbles to do it before cell phones and all you could buy was a VHS cam corder that looked like it should be recording the evening news. Crazy really.

This is a long way from Africa:

Fun fact, Tom was also a very good athlete in his school days....He wasn't far out of his prime at the1985 FTA trappers college, and he was hard to keep up with over the course of several days.

Seems ALOT of us are turning 60 this year, november for me as well and like everyone else im wondering what happened to 30? I see stars or singers all the time and what age they are and wonder how in the world can they be that old but then remember my age is flying up there too.

I met Tom back in the 70s or very early 80s. Incredibly pleasant young man. He had come to one of Oscar Cronk's trapper days.
He put out some very good method books, and great videos, very good. Ran into him in the last couple of years up at Olson's trapper days. Still a most
pleasant man to speak to. A great advocate for the trapper. Looking forward to his new video. I knew he trapper up North last year but was not aware
he had a video coming out. Very cool.

Mac
