I like that they consider 17 years old to still be youth.

Ours become “adult hunters” at 16.

And the liberals passed stupid gun laws a few years ago that really messed up youth and young hunters. We got a lot overturned. But, they are still kinda stupid.

Oops!

No concerns eating them. It just kills a lot of them and hammers the population.

No yote trap and jp I left work last year and went home becuse they said they didn't feel confident they would get it right. So I left and drove home. I didnt touch the deer but was there to answer questions and just being there gave them more confidence.

Ya they are not supposed to drive on the road before they are licensed either.

So PF, if you’re ok with them breaking laws why do you care how many tags y’all get? Just go shoot whatever you want whenever you want.

Funny how during regular hunting season there is not the same requirement. On my land or friends I will let them hunt. On public yesterday My wife did accompany them as to my definition. she drove them.the hour and 15 min drive and was on the property just at the vehicle. I dont see a specific definition of what constitutes accompany. Could be in arms reach with in sight, able to be in communication. With out specific wording there is nothing to stand on.

Bag limits, hunting hours, and equipment type is very clearly written. And followed.

But, your definition and Indiana’s definition are not the same. I’d go with Indiana’s.

Just, own it, you don’t mind them being outlaws or being an outlaw yourself.

I’ll check with my game warden buddy in Indiana and ask about youth hunting during the regular season. Because that sounds dumb if they can hunt alone during regular season and not youth days. Makes no sense.

Interesting, he did confirm you’re an outlaw for letting them hunt alone on youth weekend but would have gotten a warning for not “accompanying” them. lol

But, little odd they can then hunt regular season alone but not youth weekend. Says it’s to encourage the mentoring of young hunters by adults, that’s why they do it. Odd but ok.

Hopefully they have a safe and successful rest of their season after this one little violation.

Someone sounds a bit jealous. Odd coming from someone that lives in a state with so much public land. BUT if you must know.... ( kidding I know you just wanted to feel important and take a swing) Its a few reasons. 1 we dont hunt elsewhere much at all during gun season its to crowded here in the east so stay at home. 2 They kill more deer each year than the county limits so hunt in several counties. 3 neighbors properties at the farm have a lot of hunting from people that dont own it or live there and they take a large number of deer not caring about if the population is health. 4 they get the shooting done freezer full and its easier to let the doe walk and wait for bucks chasing them. Especially if they didnt shoot the doe in early seasion. 5. They can hunt every single day of the season. So when im home or there mom drives thwm its nice to hunt on more than the same 96 acres you live on.

Back to 3. last year I found 3 deer people shot but didn't recover. A nice buck that made it to the middle of my farm one on the property line with its head cut off the rest left to rot and a doe In between. ( my farm is the escape route in the middle of two larger woods.

Friend place are farmers and want them to shoot every single doe they see. The boys told him unless they get damage tags they can only shoot the limit for the county. Even with the push that that doesn't mater from the land owner. they did not shoot any out of a group walking out yesterday during recovering the kill becuse there was a road behind them about 80 yards and not a safe shot with safe back stop.( what they told me them I asked why they didnt shoot when I asked what all they saw)
