They will not get fired without lawsuits that will probably be loss again. Unpaid layoffs are probably legal and a good idea.

Furloughing is usually a waste of time because they always get back pay for the time they were furloughed.

If someone is furloughed can they file for temporary unemployment? An example would be a construction worker that gets laid off for the month of January because of lack of work, or does the term furlough change what a person can do.
