I currently find myself in need of new lights on a not often used trailer. Wondering about buying the wireless magnetic mount trailer lights. Then just leave them in my truck with all other crap I always carry. Use them as needed when needed.
Anyone have them? Use them? Pros? Cons?

Might be way to go.

Mac

I have owned and used them...too many times. Maybe it is because I buy the cheapos from Harbor Freight, but it seems the wires are extremely cheaply made and very prone to damage and breaking. A set I bought on the trip back from Bear hunting near Black River Falls did not even make it back to my house. and the wire they used is so bad I could not even repair them.

I think that's where the wireless ones Mac mentioned would be better. There are all kinds of them on Amazon with 4-5 star reviews so I'd think they would be a nice option, and they come with a nice little carrying case so you don't lose parts.

Took a look at them and I did not even know you could get the truly wireless ones. I stand corrected! Those just might be the ticket!

I was sitting here racking my brain on if there was some kind of remote in your cab or what and finally found a pic of the transmitter. Pretty awesome if it lasts.

I would have thought someone here has already used them. Why I was curious. Guessing I may have to be the guinea pig on this one..

Interesting!!! Never knew of such thing. Not a lot of good videos where someone that uses them and ins and outs of the system. I really like the techy concept though.

Interesting! Sounds like they might be just the ticket for boat trailers too.

Where I park my trailer I was thinking I would use them on. I fight mice with chewing the wires. Find the plug chewed. When I used it couple weeks back I actually broke the lenses on lights. So they need replacement.

Rewired a small trailer at the ranch last spring. It was a pain in the butt!! If I would have known of this method then I would have possibly have gone that route.

I've been wondering about them for a year now Mac. They seem like they'd be the slick ticket, but I don't know anyone who's tried them yet.

Thats kinda what I was thinking too. Guy could even stick them on the receiver rack when use it. Heck could set them on road like flares if you were on side road changing a tire or something. Put them few yards back turn flashers on .
I always think multi use with things like that.
Guess I just see which ones want try have the wife order on Amazon.

The other day one of my guys loaded up a trailer for a job and didn’t check lights first and had to unload and grab another trailer and for $70.00 I would have saved that if we had one set.

Pull the batteries out of them when not in use. Not daily or even weekly, but more like over the winter if not in use.
