Hit up the gunshop on my lunch break. As luck would have it they had a very gently used blued 357 that only end up costing me $83 after taxes.

The Fed permit system was running slow so I had to stand there and play with guns and BS for 30 min. Owner of the shop felt bad so he threw in a box of shells

cool

It's in great shape. Pic shows all the fingerprints I put on it while I was waiting

I'm no Jerry Miculek, but a bad guy or a critter within 50' should at least be concerned.

None here i got one in the 357. Model also, about 25 years old.
Never had a problem with it, blueing wear off years ago.
Pack it all the time in the bear country.
Use to shoot it more.
Good gun

Let me sugar coat this

hard to beat that
so when you figure the price of shells the gun cost you like 50 bucks and a half hour.

looks good , now leather and we need to see it on your belt.

Holster recommendations?

I've got a couple simple leather ones for my 22 revolver but the rest of my handguns, I use more concealed carry type stuff.

Thinking simple leather with strap retention. Simple, for woods use, no need for a full blown rootin-tootin western one

Also looking at the chest holsters and the ones that kind of sling across and hang under your armpit. Maybe easier for climbing on and off quads and doing woods work.

I would look at this
https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1017733744?pid=859432

I had one made recently ran me 147 with tax and shipping

I had specific things I wanted for my super black hawl with the 7.5 inch barrel

I wanted 0 cant , covered trigger, hammer spur about even with belt, simple strap retention , open bottom so any tree debris that got in could drop out.

this is what I got.

finding holsters with 7.5 inch barrel SBH was harder than a 5.5 BH is

My Blackhawk is only a .22/.22 mag convertible. But it was the first gun I ever purchased for myself, not handed down from family, with my first boom year of trapping money. It is a Bicentennial special 1776-1976.

Diamond d leather, Tucker gun leather, Busted B leather are all companies I’ve used for holsters and happy with em all. The cheapest one I have is a Triple K holster from Midway that allows itself to be hung straight on the hip or crossdraw. I like the crossdraw option for running around. The button snap scratches the heck out of your gun. In my case I have a cheap heritage rough rider in that rig and I don’t care. But I’d invest in good leather for a nice gun like your Blackhawk.
