this year. Instead of the 2nd weekend in October it is The 11the through the 19th. Naturally i didn't know this in early spring when picking vacation. thought there may be some other parents and grandparents that were not aware of the change and would like to know.

Stop over cooking your meat! It isn’t gamey, it’s over cooked!

Yes, and probably our last year hunting out of state down there. They age out at 16 and this will be my oldest last year Of cheap hunting. And able to use a gun. Then again I could buy him out of state adult license and he could bow or x bow hunt and he would be happy with that. But its already an expensive trip if it gets much more expensive it may be better to start looking into a hunt out west for antelope, mule deer or elk.

Its been our yearly guys trip. I rent a cabin and the boys and I go down and have a fun 3 to 5 days. Usually getting down a day or two early to scout and x bow hunt before the youth gun weekend.

Swaping ky for whitetail for a western state for new to us game sounds like a good trade. More expensive im sure but well worth it with memories made. But the rules and regs are a lot different, points systems and add not knowing a thing about the game, land, weather, dangers, ect. I guess I need to start planing now.

Im only off 3 days of ky youth this year since I didnt know the seasion was extended. Guess I will burn up my emergency vacation day and all the days I can call in uo to the point I won't get in trouble. Should be able to turn that 3 days into 6 or 7.

Not non resident in KY. 16 they have to buy adult license Non-resident deer and hunting come to $395. Add the cabin and other expenses and its for whitetail in an areas just like home. Maybe double my cost and may be able to take them to hunt a different species in areas we have never been.
