Opening day of Bow. Took my old recurve. This deer had many skin infections, I can't remember the name for them. I would have skun it out but the guts were black and smelled like septic. Oh well. Have to shoot another.

That's fibroma, but never heard of black guts and septic smell. Fibroma is basically deer warts that come and go on the deer....no effect to the meat.

I'd let that one lay too.

Her knees look skint...maybe a stage of EHD affecting her. Some survive EHD. That intestinal stuff may be from that. They hemorrhage in their gut and seek water....sometimes crawling around on their knees.

From the sounds of the guts, you probably did it a favor..

Yes and it was unusually skinny. I hate not utilizing it for anything but I've never gutted one that was black and rotten on the inside

Black sounds like internal hemorrhaging. The missus has an ulcer black is blood in the stool.
