Sounds like 12/3 with ground but the carrier wire is usually red in 12/3. I've never seen green.

Eh...wot?

Neither have I but they show it in wiring diagrams when doing a GFI 120 V with down stream receptacles. I will use just 12-2 and use bare for green lug on GFI.

Thanks for all the help.

Sounds like a it might be a way to wire GFCI's so if one kicks everything downstream doesn't kick too.

I do that by connecting the hot conductor to the line terminal only, not the line and load terminals.

That way when one kicks off, the others on that circuit stay working. The others are also GFCI's.

I'd be interested in seeing a diagram like you are referring to if you could provide a link.

Eh...wot?

If that mess is a link, it doesn't work.

I wonder if you've got hold of a foreign made made drawing. Some other places in the world, green is just another color for current carrying conductors.

It does work. Copy it, right click and select open link. It takes you to a google images page showing different wiring diagrams.

I couldn't find the one in question though.

Green ground is typically for appliances, and is braid, not solid. I have seen the combo you, (OP), list in HVAC installations. What is your intended use?

Just doing what I want now.

Sorry I was going to delete those wiring diagrams but I need to leave this morning and forgot. Just going to wire in a sub panel and hook up a few outlets.
