No DP trap, before or since has caught and held coons better. If their design was more user friendly, there probably wouldn't even be the modern tube type DP's so popular today. These have been made since the 1980's. (I don't think they are currently being made, but I could be wrong.) They were called simply DP Traps when they were first introduced. I got mine sometime after when Stacy Yancy bought the company and most called them Yancy's DP's. He had a son Jeff that I think got the company when he passed, but I don't know if Jeff has it or makes the traps.

True. I had several of them.

It was nice to know when thieves ripped one off they couldn't set it. lol

I had several of them back then. I sold them to the guy who bought all my skunk and raccoon cage traps when we moved to Alaska. Wish I still had them.


Trail cameras and fresh snow have broke a lot of trapper’s hearts.

still have some. never knew they had a setter until Kermit sterns told me about them.i made my own out of a 2x4!
