note even with animal fats, you still need to keep them refrigerated for long term storage

Render the oil out of spoonbill belly fat. Pressed fish oil wont hold a candle to it.

If you do any comparative testing my experience is you will end up finding a good sun rendered fish oil will have the most attraction. Some fats and oils will have very low attraction.

I save and freeze all the waste fat trimmed from smoked beef brisket. I put some in a dirt hole once to see what would happen and it looked like a land mine went off.

Which begs the question, is the fat needed as a filler or added attraction.

Not a filler more for attraction for base that you are using.

Not fan of just "fillers", most formulations require a base but I try to use one with the most attraction I can get. There might b some formulations than need a conditioner to keep it from drying out but again there's some that will fill the bill and add attraction.

Beaver fat is typically easy to obtain. It renders down pretty well and is something predators will eat readily. May be worth a try.
