I just finished Dancing at the Rascal Fair. I agree with you about Doig, he is a very good author. I really enjoy his writing style.
Next up, Ride With Me, Mariah Montana.
Thanks for the great recommendations.

I also wish there were more Doig books to be read. One I read recently that reminded me a lot of his writing style and demographic is Cloudmaker by Malcolm Brooks. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would reccomend for the Doig fans out there. I see Kjelgaard in that book stack too. Even though geared for younger readers.... will always be one of my all-time faves!
Proudly banned from the NTA.

I finally finished English Creek. I can't believe it took me nearly three months to do so. I usually read a book about every three to four weeks (English Creek makes my 13th this year).
That in no way reflects on the quality of Doig's writing. I found Jick's narration and adventures very entertaining. I've been wearing myself out during the day and by the time I go to bed to read what is normally close to an hour, I'm konked out after a page or two.
Next up, the third and final book in Doig's Montana series, Ride With Me Maria Montana. I'm sure I will enjoy it as much as I did the first two and thanks again for the great recommendation.
