Can't say I have serious problems with private foreign individual ownership of land but when said ownership is connected to a foreign government it should be banned from being able to purchase.

Canadians own about 14 million acres in the US. (should own 0) While a large amount, it is under 1% of total private ownership. Thats said, it shouldn't be legal any more than the 480 acres I drive by every day that is owned by people from the state of Washington. Both countries should quit that garbage idea.

China is a minority holder of US land or farmland. Most of their holdings are parts of businessed that they own like Smithfield etc. Yes Canadians own over 15 million acres, alos of which is forest land as well as farm land.
It is American land and business owners who have decided to "capitalize" on making money by selling their assets to the highest bidders. Forty % of the worlds wealth is outside the USA and much of that wealth is in the hands of persons or firms where they have a lot of liquidity to buy assets here. There are many countries where the wealth is even more concentrated by a few than here.

Trade and business and property ownership should be equal with all countries, if not it should be a disqualifier. We as Us citizens cannot buy land in China, they should not be allowed to do it here.

There’s 40 million acres of US farmland owned by foreign countries. China owns about 1% of those 40 million acres….380,000 US acres. My county is larger than that. By comparison, Canada owns 14 million US acres.

There’s a limit to how much stuff I can be outraged about. This ain’t one of them.
