Have another question has anyone ever took
Skunk fat and not sun render it.
And took some and vented a jar or not vented a jar
Put some Skunk fat in jar and put in a dark cool shed
Say for a 1yr. Took see what happens or how it smells.

You will get oil

Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

It would sour, grow mold and release oil over time. Most fats act the same in an enclosed container. Temps control the humidity and the environment of a material. That environment will dictate the result.

Heat rendered in a cooker will get you a golden oil (lure base) but sun rendered will get you a taint odor (lure ingredient) is the way l look at it. It seems even the golden oil still holds suspended fat no matter how much you heat or filter it then let it cool. It gets foggy no matter how many times a guy pours the golden off the top of the fat it fogs up over and over again. The golden oil looks pretty but the foggy fat doesn’t seem to hurt anything as long as the unwanted fluids are cooked out of it,

The white fat from heat rendered oil that settles to the bottom can be filtered and collected to use as a paste lure base it has some antifreeze properties I like it because it a more natural base.

The left over cracklins from heat rendering is a very good skunk bait .
